A major exhibition of clothing and accessories belonging to the late Queen Elizabeth II will be held in London in April 2026. It will feature her official gowns, tweed jackets, and famous scarves. The exhibition, for which tickets will go on sale starting next Tuesday, will showcase about 200 exceptional pieces belonging to the monarch, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 96 after a record 70-year reign. According to the Royal Collection Trust, the body responsible for preserving the British royal heritage, the items will be displayed in the King's Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace, with about half of them being shown to the public for the first time. Among the exhibits are dresses created by the Queen's designer, Norman Hartnell, her wedding dress, the outfit she wore during her coronation in 1953, and a green dress she wore at a banquet in honor of US President Dwight D. Eisenhower at the British Embassy in Washington in 1957. The exhibition is billed as the largest ever dedicated to the Queen's clothing and also includes informal items, such as tweed suits, riding attire, scarves, and a transparent raincoat by Hardy Amis from the 1960s. The Queen, who was about 1.60 meters tall, was known for wearing brightly colored outfits, which she coordinated with hats of the same color.
